My 25th IFSEC!
I’m not sure if it’s something to boast about or just keep quiet and hope no one notices but I’m pretty sure that this is my 25th IFSEC. I thought is was my 24th but on having a count up I realised that, no, it’s 25! I did start very young but even so I was surprised that I had been attending this show for a quarter or a century!
When I first went it was run by a firm called Blenheim Exhibitions, who were based near me in Pinner Green I seem to recall: I had a friend who worked there at the time. I remember popping along for an hour or so, which grew over time to a half-day; a full-day and ended up with a four day stretch at the NEC.
Now with the move to London it’s only the three days, but I will be there. My volunteer time is divided up by helping on the ASIS International stand, B1800, (I am UK Vice Chairman and a member of the European Advisory Council) and popping over to The Security Institute stand, C1975, (I am Events Director).
Also, for the third year I have put together the programme for the IFSEC Risk and Security Management Theatre as part of the IFSEC Academy. There are some good speakers on a wide range of topics and I hope delegates will find it interesting. Details of the programme are below.
Also this is a great opportunity for me to catch up with clients and candidates and hopefully, meet new ones. I’ve spent twenty two years recruiting in the sector, so to have some many people together in one place is great for me, especially as this year I get to hop on the tube and sleep in my own bed.
So please pop by one of the stands and find me or email me, firstname.lastname@example.org and we can get together over a coffee.
